Jerry W. Saveriano

Jerry W. Saveriano is the President and CEO of Sanda Communications.

An unlikely balance of left-brain and right-brain talents, Jerry has a degree in English literature from San Francisco State University, and he was one of the first manufacturing engineers to be certified in the field of robotics by Robotics International of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

Jerry has consulted, lectured and published internationally on topics such as CAD/CAM, industrial robotics, computer-aided surveying, machine vision systems, CNC machine tools, intelligent machines in space and undersea applications, automated farming, close-combat robotics and many other related automation subjects. Since the 1970s, Jerry has worked with a number of global companies, including Mitsubishi Electric, Unimation, Tadiran Ltd., Servo Products Company and Delco Electronics as they developed new technologies and brought them to market. He also has worked with European and Asian dealer and distributor networks in the introduction of advanced technology products.

The author of multiple technical articles and papers since 1980, Jerry served as the industrial editor of Robotics Age magazine, wrote a column for GeoInformatics, a European magazine on geomatics, and wrote "E-This!" a series of articles on Customer Relationship Management for the Software Association of Oregon. He has taught short courses at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Claremont, Calif., the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California at Riverside and in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has also led seminars and workshops on a number of automation topics throughout the United States as well as in London, Paris, Copenhagen and Tokyo.

Jerry served as the founding chairman of Robotics International's Southern California Chapter, the second such chapter in the United States. He founded the first SME Maquiladora chapter in San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. He also worked as an industrial liaison for research and development in the robotics lab at the University of Southern California and at the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies at San Diego City College. For the last six years, Jerry has served as a member of the board of directors of the Software Association of Oregon.
